This isn't a surprise to Wukong, who does another cartwheel back toward Potemkin and lifts his arms again toward the sky with a mock 'ta-dah!' as he does so. He'd been thinking all the while, wondering if he could put his tutor's words in a way that he could understand. Not that he thought Potemkin wouldn't be able to, but unorthodox phrases and hypotheticals didn't always work for everyone.
