[ Despite the charming King's attempts to convince Setsuna to play around, the young Meister doesn't move. He couldn't find it in him to forget the overall atmosphere from earlier. Although it's good for both Vietnam and Gilgamesh to ease their mood here, Setsuna didn't want to forget. The lives lost in this place, the cries of anguish and pain... He still finds this pool an anomaly; he couldn't think of a reason of its existence here, whether or not it was used for a horrifying ritual like all the rest.
That's why Setsuna was more or less already prepared. Despite the King's startling exclamation, the Meister doesn't flinch as Vietnam springs into action. Instead of hesitating, he straightens up and extends a hand. Once Gilgamesh is within reach, he swiftly pulls the older man protectively behind him, and switches his motorcycle's position with the King. Instantly, Setsuna straightens the motorcycle to stand as if it were a shield and activates its blade wheels — right on time to start tearing apart the salamanders that dared to leap towards their direction.
Once most of the mob clears up, Setsuna grabs a tighter hold on his bike and his King, jumping back defensively just in time to evade the salamanders's counterattack: lines of fire threateningly burning before their eyes. Unfortunately, as the salamanders are strong against ice, Vietnam's spell did little against the target — but because they're positioned in the mana pool, the surrounding water is vacuumed by the offensive ice spell. Ultimately, the aftermath water pressure is the one that causes the salamander to start shrieking in pain. ]
