He remains on his guard just in case, scoping out the statues along with Vietnam once Setsuna marks the trapped floors with a bit of ingenuity. Beautiful treasures in their own right, yet they seemed foreboding in a sense. Seemed to warn of even more danger just around the bend.
And danger indeed presents itself. Gilgamesh had been tailing Setsuna, clearing the tiles with equally fluid leaps and coming to stand beside him. Unfortunately, he had no ranged capabilities to exercise here, but maybe a means to distract would prove useful. Or rather, a means to incite.
Gilgamesh targets the group of baffled lizardmen with a simple fire spell, usable even by a Pawn. Provoked by the painful burn, they start staggering forward anyway, only to either fall all over themselves and plummet down below or run into each other in a panic. Either way, perfect fodder for Vietnam to sweep up, and he's all the gladder she came along. Even Gilgamesh must admit he cannot do everything on his own, though it is a bit embarrassing as an Archer to have no bow to speak of.
