Obligatory Beach Episode (the actual beach part)
Who: Everyone at the beach (and Vietnam)
When: First few days of April?
Where: Capablanca: Beach
What: In order to complete a few jobs set in Capablanca, a volleyball match and a beach bbq happened (at different times). As usual, everyone can end up joining for no goddamn reason (other than money maybe).
Rating: PG is always the safe option.
NOTE This is also a mingle log, so just tag around in the sub-headers set up!
VOLLEYBALL
[In order to complete this job and win the trust of the merfolk, a beach volleyball session has been organised. What are they going to do? It has been suggested that they play on the shallows, stick up a net and then hit balls back and forth to the merfolk. Seems easy enough...right?
WRONG. Beach Volleyball is super intense. Start planning your strategies, because you could be unfortunate in that your mermaid friends are actually professional underwater volleyballers. Which is probably like Blitzball or something.]
BEACH BBQ
[One of the best ways to learn about each other and also WIN THE TRUST of local populace is to hold a random Beach Barbeque. Who knows where Vietnam managed to amass all these ingredients for the barbeque (trade secret) but everyone can help cook! If they know how. Alternatively, all barbeques need people to EAT so come judge the food. And talk and make merry.
There is word going around that someone left a whole case of alcohol for mixing. Who on earth brought that?! (And left a convenient list of drinks and how to mix them). We'll blame the proprietor of a bar who wants more publicity.]

[ It's Yata's turn to catch the volleyball as Kavi throws it over, fighting back the urge to comment on Yata's height.
Strange. ]
Do you guys need another player?
no subject
Hehe, thanks. [ He jerks his head toward the net. ] Yeah, you wanna join? C'mon! Uh, you know how to play, right?
[ He noticed that some Heroes didn't. Weird. He guesses they're from a world like Kija's fantasy ancient Korea... ]
no subject
Sure, I played a bit while I was in High School. Was a decent enough middle blocker.
[ Being tall has its advantages. But hurray, he can join! He stretches for a whole ten seconds before jogging over, glancing between the teams. ]
Which team do you guys want me to join?
no subject
The guy on the other team's gotta leave, so you can take his spot. Hehe, get ready!
[ It's Yata's turn to serve, so he sees this as a chance to show off to his fellow Hero. When everyone gets into position, he tosses the ball up in the air and strikes it with all the force in his hand. He might be small, but he can jump! ]
no subject
momDAD YOU CAN'T TELL HIM WHAT TO DOHoly shit though, the kid can jump. And the force behind the serve is nothing to sneeze at either. Kavi attempts to receive the ball but it bounces off his arms at an angle, landing in the sand with a dull noise. It proceeds to attempt to roll towards freedom but thankfully, Kavi's teammate picks it up and tosses it back to Yata. ]
Don't tell me you're actually a professional volleyball player.
no subject
[ Don't be so proud of that... He serves again, hitting the ball just a little softer than last time. ]
no subject
Kavi is prepared this time and thanks to the serve being softer this time, he manages to receive it, directing it to his team mate who spikes it back into the other side of the court.
Hard. ]

Woah!
no subject
[ It's Team Kavi's turn to serve! ]
no subject
[ Let's be real, it's a good thing they haven't considered the possibility of playing extreme beach volleyball. With flaming balls or mana fueled power shots. It wouldn't be exactly fair on their team mates either.
Kavi swirls the ball once in his hands, trying to remember how to do a proper overhand serve. Left foot forward and right elbow back-- Yes.
That feels right.
Please enjoy the incoming ball, Yata. It's a little slower than Kavi would have liked but he's a little rusty. ]
no subject
Yata's teammate tosses the ball to him, and Yata? Yata uses his magic to set the ball on fire. Have a comet, Kavi. ]
no subject
Well, neither does Kavi. He is grinning as he casts a water spell to extinguish the fire, barely diving into a receive in time but his team mate set and Kavi scrambles up to spike the the volley ball turned ice ball. Snow ball? Either way, it's solid ice. ]
no subject
[ NAH. Because now things are getting interesting. As if Yata completely expected this, he engulfs his arms in flames as his teammates look on in shock and awe when he receives that ball with ease. They might be crazy like the murmurs say, but hey. They're our hardworking Heroes. And even Heroes deserve to have some fun, right!?
That half-melted ball is travelling ridiculously fast across the court, though. ]
no subject
It spins, out of control, to the side. ]
Damn it!
no subject
YES! One point!
[ But all his teammates are gone. ]
no subject
Now you have no friends. ]
One point and no teammates, kid.
[ Look who is talking because Kavi's teammates seem to have noped out as well. ]
no subject
Yata jolts at the sudden realization, then snaps at the name. The name. ]
They just went to the bathroom, you friendless loser! [ He points! ] And don't call me a kid!
no subject
Wow, Kavi seems to have it a nice spot with Yata. So his grin widens and he tucks his hands into his pockets almost lazily. ]
I call them as I see them, kid.
no subject
[ He is stomping and so, so red. Kavi, make him chill. ]
no subject
Swimming in the ocean. Kavi raises his hands in mock surrender and lifts both eyebrows. ]
Almost an adult, yeah? Well then, Sir Adult, how about a race to the ocean?
no subject
Hah! This Yatagarasu'll get there before you even start!
no subject
[ Because see this? This is Kavi beginning to run towards the ocean. No one mentioned playing fair. ]
Come on, lazybones!
no subject
[ He's just going to have to run even faster, then! They're evenly matched though, and he kicks some sand onto some guy's back as he dashes down the shore. Kavi might hear a Hey! ]
no subject
[ Like what Yata did with the volley ball, yeah? Kavi shouts an apology for Yata over his shoulder before focusing on the race, eyes on the prize. Damn though, Yata is a quick little bugger. ]
Hey shortie, anyone ever told you that you're surprisingly fast, considering how stubby your legs are?
[ Much maturity. Very wow. ]
no subject
[ In response to this, Sir Adult shoves at Kavi. ]
